A : Booksomebody.com is a booking site designed to promote entertainers, including but not limited to musicians, bands, singers, songwriters, DJ's, magicians, models, public and motivational speakers, comedians, clowns, dancers, and other public performers. Q : What do you offer your members? A : Membership features include a promotional page on our site, including bio, photo, slideshow, audio clips, itinerary, song list, and other pertinent info. Classified advertisements and a merchandise page complete the package. Also available to members are personal benefits such as insurance options and retirement plan participation. You are also covered by the booksomebody.com guarantee : Use the system for one full year, follow the member guidelines and requirements, and if your membership does not pay for itself in engagement fees (or furnish you with offers for paid engagements which you decline), we'll refund your membership fee. Q : How much does it cost? A : A full one-year membership is $99.00. Bookings (if done through the GigTrax system) carry a 5% fee, with no minimum. Classified listings are free, and equipment and instrument sales through the system carry a 5% fee (also no minimum). Another limited membership option is priced at $49.00 for a one-year membership with a 20% fee on bookings and classified sales. This option requires members to complete the booking process through the GigTrax system on all booksomebody.com leads. Q : Am I required to book engagements through the GigTrax system? A : With a full membership, you are NOT required to book ANY of your engagements through the GigTrax system, or to pay any booking fees. You are free to make all of your arrangements through actual contact with the buyer. However, you must faithfully keep your itinerary up-to-date or GigTrax may offer your services to prospective buyers for a date you have already booked. Remember that your prospective customer may need to book quickly, and might go elsewhere if they are unable to contact you and secure your services immediately. Additionally, some membership benefits (such as advanced ratings, feedback, buyer follow-up, and statistics) are only available or applicable to engagements booked through Booksomebody.com. Q : I have no experience at all. How can Booksomebody.com help me? A : Booksomebody.com will help you assemble the materials you need to promote your act or service on our site. We also have available standard business forms, sample contracts, and other useful information and suggestions to help you get started. The founders of Booksomebody.com have almost 80 years of combined experience in the music and entertainment industry. We've been in the trenches, on the road, in the studio, and on the stage. The site was born because of lessons we have learned and services we think should be available to everyone trying to make it as an entertainer. It's difficult to spend a lot of time on promotion when you are constantly trying to upgrade and maintain your performing edge. Conversely, it's also difficult to spend a lot of time on upgrading your act when you are forever trying to promote and market yourself. Let us help! Q : I'm a prospective buyer. How can Booksomebody.com help me? A : If you are an experienced buyer of entertainment, you may know exactly what you want and how to find it. Most likely, you have been elected to find that perfect band for your company Christmas party, or need to replace an act that cannot make the Labor Day picnic. Maybe you are a club owner looking for some new blood. Whatever your needs, Booksomebody.com can probably help you out. By searching through our database of performers, you can find prospective entertainment sorted by type, style, and price. You can then see pictures of the entertainers, hear audio samples, and review feedback left by previous buyers to help you decide which act is right for you. When you find what you are looking for, you may view the performer's standard engagement agreement. If you agree to the terms, you may engage the selected act by way of the GigTrax system, make a deposit to secure your desired date, and print out a document ready for your signature.
